A Brief History of Quality Machining
Quality Machining came into existence in November 1998. However, the shop has been
in operation for 25 years: first as the machine shop for HRB Systems Company and
most recently for Raytheon Systems, State College division. Raytheon acquired the HRB
E-Systems in 1995 and, at that time, the complex was a development and manufacturing
facility with 35 employees in the machine shop.
In 1996 Raytheon changed the direction of the State College facility to emphasize
research and development and phase out manufacturing. As this evolved, Raytheon
management was faced with finding a private investor or closing the machine shop. An
agreement was reached with Quality Machining to purchase the
machinery and lease the machine area, operating independently. At that time, the
machine shop was staffed by seven full-time machinists who agreed to stay on with
Quality Machining, thus giving us over 80 years experience in the electronics and
			  communication industry.
Since November 1998 we have experienced a steady growth. In April 2004 Mr. Koleno
became the sole owner of Quality Machining, Inc. We currently have 54 full-time
production personnel and a support staff of five. We have outgrown our facility on
Science Park Road and have moved into our new state-of-the-art facility at Penn Eagle Industrial Park in Bellefonte.
